A Transparent Flower Tutorial, ANYONE???

When you are given a challenge to create your own transparency, you have to think about ink and stamps.... RIGHT??? Well I went for the glimmermist and heat gun approach.

First Step
Spray Glimmermist all over your transparency and let dry (you can speed this up by using your heat gun, just becareful not to use it too much)

 Second Step
Using your Tim Holtz flower die, or punches or any other flower die you have (or your Tim Holtz die ;) lol, cause really it's awesome) cut a few different sized flowers. I went for 3 large, 2 medium and a small.

Third Step
Which I didn't photograph (whoops sorry) is to use your heat gun to shape the petals. First (base) petals don't need alot of shaping, just heat enough so that the sides slightly raise and curl. Continue this until you have heated all the petals and with each one into the centre heat them more so that they curl in towards themselves. You want to create a bud effect. Make sure that the larger flowers are the bottom, the medium are the middle and the smallest is the tightest bud

Fourth Step
Glue your petals together from the most flattest to the small tight bud for the centre of your flower. It really is that simple. Worst thing, you'll want to make more and experiment with different colours. Plus they are something that you need to see in real life because photos really don't do them justice.

and this is what I used it on the Make it Yourself challenge for Aussie Scrap Source which I was late in entering again.

Little Miss - I know I've scrapped this photos too much lately but hey when you accidently print them twice, I'm not going to let them go to waste. Plus I've run out of ink so I have to make do with what I have. lol. Used some of the GORGEOUS new Prima on this. As soon as I saw this paper I knew I had to cut it up. Plus those leaves... to die for.

Side note: I know that the flowers are nothing new, but I just wanted to share ;)

Take a Photo

Take A Photo - This was at Dea's birthday party, the boys were running around the yard with their trucks and Zac fell over, scratched his elbow and all he was interested in was for me to take a photo of it so he could have a look, lol. CRAZY!!!!

I've used the September kit from For The Luv of Art for this. It's jam packed full of Studio Calico and Jillibean Soup.... Plus Norma has a whole set of 6x6 papers which she has designed in there too and let me tell you LUSH, plus the stamps too. ohhhh and the Punky Spouts flower, mmmmm. Gave it a spray with some Glimmermist. This was a little hard to photograph as the card is actually GOLD.

That's it from me for awhile

Bit of English Lit....

English was never my strongest subject, I always seemed to do fairly well though ;)
This time around at Nook U I didn't mind it so much. Probably only get a credit though for this effort.

Journaling is a big part of my scrapping even if it's only a sentence or two. I need to have some sort of words on my layouts thesedays.

If Someone Told Me - Just about how I had planned my life and how my life has changed along the way. I've never been too career minded but I always wanted a secure job before I had my kids. Life didn't pan out that way for me but hey it's something I can achieve after they grow up a little more. Using some of the new Prima lines, mixed with and older butterfly spray. Plus a little Tattered Angels crepe paper and glimmermist :)

Thanks for stopping by

Studying is FUN ;)

Who would have thought that going back to school would have been this fun :)

I've missed a couple of classes :( but I'm planning not not missing anymore, going to have to get going to finish two layouts tonight so I can upload tomorrow morning, well that's the plan......

This class was all about shabby, think you all know I love a bit of shabby, distressing, old laces and ribbon, crackle paint, inking, sewing, beautiful vintage looking flowers, a touch of elegance. Yeah I'm loving it.

Waiting - ahhhh by the end of the day I was sooooo sick of waiting. Woke up, had to wait for mum, had to wait in the hairdressers, had to wait for my make up artist, I was dressed, had to wait for my photographer, then I had to wait for the cars. Apparently I was early to the ceremony ;) Loved my wedding, but I'm not the most patient person. Waiting for people just annoys me. lol.

Used the new Prima range Annalee, plus flowers, blingy swirl, mask, that gorgeous spray of glittery goodness, a quick spray with Glimmermist, a touch of Scrapware and topped off with Thickers.
